Our facility and sourcing capabilities are nothing without a superior Food Safety program in place to ensure the safety of produce that enters and exits our building. Our Food Safety/QA team receives accredited third party training and certification, as well as continuing education courses. Each year we have over 10 Food Safety Audits, from both our customer’s internal auditing teams and our external third party auditors, and we consistently score in the highest percentiles. In 2016, Veg-Fresh Farms made another improvement to our facility: the installation of a mega generator, which protects the integrity of our facility’s cold chain and preserves business continuity in the event of an emergency power loss. The Caterpillar 3512C diesel generator ensures all areas of our 189,000 square foot facility experience no downtime – it provides full power within 30 seconds of an unexpected electrical disruption, supplying not only refrigeration to our warehouse to keep our product inventory fresh, but also to our IT network to support communications, finance, procurement, shipping, and order entry.
